Multi-Page Sites

Multi-page sites download faster than single page sites, and appeal to many viewers because only a portion of your site is downloaded at a time. Multi-page sites also have shorter pages for those viewers who do not like to scroll. Each page should present a single topic or idea, and all information related to that topic should be presented on that page. Links to and from each page must be provided, which will add slightly to your design costs.

A typical multi-page, small business web site contains five or six pages. Obviously, the greater the number of pages your site has, the greater your design costs will be.

Key Benefits

  • Faster downloading
  • Less Scrolling
  • Can be done by topic or idem

Capabilities can build as many pages as you like

Graphics

Graphics add appeal to any web site, but they can be costly, and can interfere with your message. We will make every attempt to produce the best possible graphics for your site at the most reasonable cost.

There is no denying that graphics can add an aesthetic touch to web sites, but there are some points to remember: Custom-designed graphics take a long time to create, and the longer the time, the higher your design costs. If you can provide your own graphics, it will lower your costs considerably. Your graphics should complement your message, not interfere with it. Be sure your graphics are relevant and meaningful. Stay away from animations unless they are very subtle. Most of the animations we have seen add nothing to the message, and actually militate against it. This includes Java. It was the thing a few months ago, but it takes a long time to download, doesn't always work, and often crashes browsers.

Key Benefits

  • Make pages more attractive
  • Highlights key points and topics
  • Makes a web site a little more entertaining

Single Page Sites

Single page sites permit your viewer to easily obtain a printout of your site, often considered online brochures. If you have a lot of information that your viewer may want to refer to later or show to someone else, a single page site can be printed out with one print command. The disadvantage of a single page site is that all of your information must be downloaded at one time, which may take longer than most viewers are willing to wait if your site has many graphics.

Framed Sites

Framed sites permit easy navigation, and can add to the site's attractiveness, but do not display on all browsers. Frames can be used with both multi-page and single page sites, can provide easy navigation, and can add to your site's attractiveness. There is an ongoing battle among web site designers over the use of frames: Some hate them others absolutely love them. There is no doubt, though, that some browsers are incapable of displaying frames. To ensure your
message reaches viewers using such browsers, we can provide a "No frames" version of your site, which can add to your design costs.

Key Benefits

  • add to the site's attractiveness
  • provide easy navigation
  • Gives you more control when linking outside your site
