Sticking Out Like A Sore Thumb...

Folks, I was talking with a young fellow a few days ago about what teenagers are doing these days. He is a pretty bright fellow with some fine ideas about life and helping others.

He sat there, telling me about one of his ideas for: safety of little kids in the: public parks. He was very; concerned about children: who are abducted, and he wants to help stop these terrible occurrences.

I asked him if his friends were willing to help him to: further his ideas. He just: laughed and said that they: think he's weird. ..they like; to hang out and party. Bul he was quick to assure me that they are all good guys anyway, and they are good friends.

I got to thinking about all of this late F. Seems like I can remember when folks didn't want to be different. Everybody dressed in the same styles, went to the same places and did the same things. . .or else you were called "nerd@ or "geek", and you stuck out like a big, sore thumb.

I can't help but think it's a good sign for today's youth. They are learning how to be different without being singled out. They are learning to have their own identities while still being part of their circles. Maybe civilization might just manage to get a little more civilized after all.
